I have seen a lot of posts regarding Compressors.
It's very appealing to upgrade a Viper to 700HP just for $10000.
An Enzo costs $1000000 ...

I was wondering what is the life expectancy of the Engine and the Viper.
Mosts cars over 700Hp last just a couple of 1000 miles.

So who has the highest mileage with the highest ¸horsepower ?

You can get a Roe blower, installed, for 10K. But for 700RWHP you may need to spend a bit more than that.

On the issue of longevity, I don't know. That is a great question. I have asked it a few times, but I have not heard from anyone with experience. Certainly, a blower will wear on an engine to some degree. Its just a matter of physics. I know there are quite a few guys with 75,000 mile and more on their Vipers. But I don't know who has the most BLOWN miles.

Maybe some of the s/c guys can respond with the amount of miles their car has now, and how many did it have when blow?

I think Gerald holds the official title of most blower miles. I'm sure he'll chime in but I think he has multiple 10's of thousands with well over 700 rwhp. Who does the work and especially the tuning is crucial to longevity.

Tony Armour sells and installs them for the retail price of $7500 (ie, the install is essentially free through him).

Assuming 600 RWHP (600 / .85) = 706 Flywheel HP, you could achieve this with a Roe blower for well under $10,000. Roe blower, remove the cats/rear muffler, 6-7 pound pulley, and tuning.

OneRare, have you seen a dyno sheet showing this power?

1Tony1, who sells and installs Roe Super chargers, car with headers/exhaust, 1.7 rockers and throttle bodies at 7 psi made 623 rwhp.

Yes. Sean used to post dyno graphs of his test mule at with different pulley sizes. I remember them showing right around 600 RWHP, pre-VEC2. Although, he may have had 1 5/8 headers and exhaust, I can't remember. But with the VEC2 you figure that number would increase.

Personally, I feel the stock headers ('98 up) with straight thru exhaust flows pretty good. I feel the biggest restriction to the stock exhaust is the cats. IMO, you're not going to gain that much with 3' exhaust and aftermarket headers vs. 2.5 and straight thru (no mufflers or cats). I bet only 20 HP, but I can't prove it. Just done a lot a playing around with my exhaust, but no dyno numbers - only seat of pants. The stock exhaust can flow if there are no restrictions - but given, it will not sound nearly as sweet as aftermarket. Aftermarket is worth the money for the sound alone, IMO.

I'm probably not the best person to ask (Macedo would know), but I bet a Roe Blower with a 7 pound pulley and straight thru exhaust, with a properly tuned VEC2 would come darn close to 600 RWHP.

hmm, dunno, it's been nearly 40,000 miles now. It dynoed 750rwhp, but my trap times have been better or right there with other blower cars making 850rwhp (138-139 with a wing and 1st time at track)... go figure. Either I'm a great driver or they aren't making 800++ rwhp! LOL!!

You've run faster (not quicker) than my 840 rwhp beast has run. I've only mustered 138 with having to shift to 5th.

What happened to the Busa?

Why are you running higher than stock gears with 840 rwhp? Did you put them in before you put on the blower?

I bought the car that way but I believe the gears were installed before the decision to do a Level III was made. It does make it fun around town and may do enough good at the beginning of the 1/4 mile to outway the drawback at the top end anyway.
