How many of you SRT owners have had all 3 Gens? I have had all three including 2 Gen 3s (vert and Coupe--plus C5 and C6 Vettes)

95 Green RT
00 Red/silver GTS
05 Comm Ed white/blue
06 Black/silver Coupe

Observations: no question Gen 3s are best driving cars. GTS may have been the zenith of Viper styling. Gen 3 verts don't photograph well-look much better in person. I find Viper paint , once the best, getting weaker. Don't buy these cars for investments--drive them --they will depreciate.

BTW, why the hell doesen't the new coupe have an interior hatch release ??(if someone tells me it does I will be real embarassed.

Well, we kinda qualify, as we had a '95 RT/10 in our garage for about a year which we babysat, drove, dyno'ed, etc. Then a '00 GTS, an '03 SRT, and now an '05 SRT.

As for the paint, expect big changes now that Saleen is building/painting the body panels. Here is a picture from Friday's tour:

Every person on that line only works ONE body panel and thus becomes "expert" on it. They are told that if they find a blem, no matter how small, to reject it. If you have seen a Saleen S7 up close you will get the idea. Simply gorgeous.

And as for the best driving cars, I am afraid the Gen III is about to take second place by a good margin with the release of the Gen IV. It's like comparing a Gen I to a Gen III - the Gen IV is THAT different (and improved) from the Gen III. You will be pleasantly shocked...

I have a 2000 GTS and an '06 coupe. I love both of them and don't find the GTS to be any less desirable to drive than the SRT. It is every bit as comfortable, just different. With the PS2's on it, it handles every bit as good as the SRT.

They're both gorgeous as hell. I don't have any complaints about the paint on the SRT.

That is correct! Not only painted but formed, finished, painted, cleared, buffed, polished, and tested for fitment by Saleen. Nobody comments on that in their reviews, but rest assured once they get past the sheer power of this car they might notice that any one car is ready for the national show circuit as well. :2tu:

Count me in:

94 Red R/T 10
95 Black/Silver striped R/T 10
97 Blue/White striped R/T 10
05 Red SRT 10
05 Yellow SRT 10
06 Red SRT 10

While I liked them all my first, the 94, was the one I liked/owned the best; however, I got it back in 97 when Vipers were still somewhat new to the world...even more attention than today.

94 Red R/T , 98 Silver/Blue striped GTS and a 04 White "Mamba" SRT/10. I loved all three, however, my 98 GTS was super fast with the roe blower on it.
