I had a 05 SRT10 and sold it for a 997 GT3. I knew i would be back to a Viper soon, and i had an 08' snakeskin green Viper ordered and had to cancel it because of some major issues i had with my GT3 not being sold in time. Now i plan to order an 08 soon, (not sure on color anymore). But for those who have heard an 08 in person, or even better, those who have an 08 who came from an 06 and under, how much different do they sound then the previous ones?

Thanks in advance!

Night and day. The '08 isn't as loud as Bellangers or Borlas, but 100% louder than an '06 IMHO. I had an '05, which I believe was the same as an '06. If not, someone correct me, please. The '08s sound more like the late Trans Am 350s to me, as least as to volume, but not as to tone. But you ought to listen to one for yourself so you can fully appreciate the difference.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, the 03-06 all sound the same. I probably wont get a chance to hear an 08 before i buy one, but i was just curious if they have a different tone and of its louder then the previous engine. I had the Corsa Track on my 05 and it was a nice sound. Besides the 08 being louder, what about the tone? is it more refined? smoother? does it sound more like a well tuned engine?

Thanks

It is the best stock sound ever, but not as good as the Corsa, or as loud as the Bellangers or Borlas. But it's good enough for me, and will probably get better as it breaks-in,as I only have about 1,000 miles on it so far.

This video looks like it was taken fairly close to the exhaust but other 2008 owners who actually have their cars in hand--that would not be me:mad: -- should weigh in on the accuracy/fidelity of the sound clip:

You could always give us a sound clip, as if were not jealous enough already.:D
