Explaining Viper things to you
Pull the wheel well plugs. Stick hand through hole and twist out bulb / wire harness from housing. Remove nuts from back side with nutdriver. Push bare studs from inside to push the housing away from the fascia.

Rock the wheels to the side to make a little more room for your hand to get in there. There are two posts with the nuts threaded on em. I did NOT have to take the wheels off but I guess it comes down to comfort. Pretty dummy proof.

so far i have what i thought was the wheel well off (has the striping attached to it), and then the back cover of the lense, and then there is still no progress. The big mumba jumba wheel well thing still doesnt come off...so i took off two bolts that attach to a bracket. Is THIS the one that actually matters and do i have to take the 3 philips screws out to get it off, or so i also take the buts off that are attached to the bumper as well. I dont want to take more off then is necessary

Installation should NOT be difficult, just turn the wheel a bit so you can reach the access cover, pull the cover off, unplug the bulb, unscrew the old marker, and push it out.

The only part you need to remove from the car is the access plug.

Hey, i got the panels back on and the lenses out, thanks for the help guys. it wasnt hard at all

what is hard though, I replaced the licence plate bulbs with LED, and now i cant get the screws back into the plastic lenses because they just dont want to line up. Is there a way i can access the lense from the top so i can push it into place?

You mean you want to try and access the rear license plate lights from the top for some reason (as you look down at them)? If someone doesnt give you an answer from memory, I have my GTS's rear cargo area all apart and rear lights out...so I can stick my head in and take a look for you if needed/ no one chimes in soon. If I am correct in what I think you're asking, do you really think it's needed to get into it from the top? No way you can just use a nail to line up the holes or anything? Maybe Im just way off in what I think you mean, sorry if I am

hey thanks for the help. i guess what i ended up doing is getting the screw into one side, tightening it fully down and then shifting it into place so the second one fit in. I am excited to wait until night so i can see if the led plate lights look **** or not.

Also, i know this is somewhat off-topic compared the the original topic, but i was wondering about the headlight/fog-light factory set up. It appears that my fog-lights are the regular looking color, but the headlights have a blue-ish HID look to them. Is this the way this came from factory or did someone do something with my headlight setup? I can take pictures if necessary

Sounds like Someone did something to your Headlights. If they have been changed to HIDs their will be a ballast box inside the back of the headlight cover. Or someone may have changed the Halogen bulbs for those ones with the blue tint?

There may be some confusion on whether the front (side) or rear markers are meant to be removed?! I guess OP means the latter ones??

sorry, i was originally talking about the side markers at the front, but then i kind of went off and spoke about some related stuff.

back to the side markers, can anyone clarify if whether the back part of the side marker (that bolts onto the car) actually looks significantly different when it is a different color. I have seen previous discussions about keeping it white vs making it silver, etc.

Darth,

I know there are a few picture posts floating around with pics...but if you leave the stock backings (white) it will appear VERY white. I have a B/W and thought it would look good with my white stripes, but decided to go with silver backings instead because they were just too white. Thesilver backings with still look white, just a little more muted. The black or smoked backings will look even more subtle harder to tell that they are clear covers. It all depends on the color of your car and personal pref really. Take a look @ the related threads at the bottom of this page, or search "klearz" and I'm sure you will find plenty of pics.

EDIT: You're welcome :D
