Literally!
Last weekend I was cruising around with my RT/10 when on the road in front of me a dove made itself/himself/herself (???) comfortable. I was going approx. 70 km/h, took the foot off the gas and was thinking: "Gee, dove, move your ass and get out of the way!!" However, the dove did not listen to me. To make things worse, a second dove landed right next to his/her suicidal companion
Meanwhile it was too late to escape (for me) and I thought: "****, no way to avoid the crash! Best to just roll over them with the middle of the car!!" That's what I did. I felt and heard some strange noises coming from the undercarriage and when I was looking into the rear mirror, I basically saw a ball of hundreds of feathers "exploding" on the street .
I don't know if the car killed both doves or if one could rescue itself but I am sure that at least one did not survive!
Luckily, seems like the car was not damaged and there don't seem to remain any "bodies of evidence" on the car (as far as I could see).
The learning out of this for me is, that in such situations you have to act immediately and intuitively. There is just no time for thinking and for sure none for hoping either.
