I'm pretty sure they are not making the car in yellow. They do have a few cars other than the show car. I heard they will be the crash test cars. They probably won't be on the market until mid 2002. I don't know any of this first hand - just what I have heard through the grapevine.

There was a thread of posts a few weeks ago with another witness in Detroit that had seen a black, and a silver, I believe. Time for a digital camera! Let's see if we can capture one of these rare wild snakes!

I am sure you are mistaken, after all it is easy to confuse the 2003 with many other cars such as, Honda S2000, Corvet, SLK roadster, etc...

They completed a number of '03's a month or so back, a factory test build, they had the frames for the build in CAAP when I was there in January. I'd guess several were built for government tests, some for drivability testing, etc. Never asked what colors they were done in though. I'd bet they are spending some time on the streets.

Sold2Vettes, I think you are mistaken as you probably saw Tom Shapiro (silver), Bill Sampognaro (yellow RT) and Brian Karstensen (red RT) driving around. They are all club members who live on the south side and they regularly cruise around together.

If those cars were 2003's and they were in Chicago I am sure someone from SVE would have let me know about it. But, if you are right, than I'm really going to be ticked off for having had missed it.

Not to beat a horse (or snake) to death, but any chance you may have mistaken the new Shelby Cobras for a 2003 Viper? They make then in all the colors you saw, and I have seen one,and for a few moments, I thought it was a concept Viper too. I think they even have snake type logos which could throw you off.
They have a giant hood scoop, a soft convertible top, funky rear end profile, and large tires and wheels.....

sold2vettes didn't make a mistake. It wasn't Bill,Brian or myself cruising in our cars. He saw the new 03's. It was confirmed. Don't ask!

Some '03s were recently driven from Detroit to Wittmann, AZ, for hot weather testing. Don't know exact route.
