I just saw the gayest thing with a Viper. There's a guy drifting a comp coupe viper and with blue neon lights....what is this drifting all about??? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Pretty ignorant sport...but that is my two cents.

I saw it as well. The driver just recently switched to the coupe i think. He has been drifting in a convertible for a while.

I have to disagree with you on drifting being dumb though. It might not be the most useful sport, but you tell me its not a challenge to keep control of a car going around a corner with the wheels spinning at 60+ mph, but thats just my two cents.

Challenging yes...fun to watch yes...but when you see a comp coupe drifting in a competition with a Mustang, then you can't help but feel a bit ebarrassed?

i think is a pretty cool sport. I actually started when japanese kids would race down the mtns on the twisty roads. takes a TON of skill.

Some good american teams popping up. Steve Millen in his 450hp GTO, the new mustang factory team. Most of these arent your average cars.

I think drifting takes skill and will be entertaining for a while but will not last. The sport is too far from main stream racing keeping money limited. Yes it is a sport but it is also a fad that will pass.

I watch that all the time. It's called Formula D. Agreed with the drifting comments. It's hard to get into a sport with cars that win based on judging. However, that dude in the Viper was contending for the Championship. The dude in first drove a Pontiac GTO. I think it is pretty cool that the sport was invented by ricers and first and second place were two American modern day muscle cars. :headbang:
