The demise of the Viper has been talked about for years. Halo cars are often not profitable but are kept because they serve as attention getters and positive press for the brand. Like everyone here, I sincerely hope that Chrysler will not do the deed but, I must admit that with the current management and it's "cost cutting" mentality, it could happen.

Not to hijack but, the Corvette debuted in 1953, the T-Bird in 1955. The Corvette was patterned to resemble the Mercedes roadster to attract WW II soldiers who saw the Euro cars while overseas.
