He likes to complain and trash everything else. Another person who has yet to say anything positive in the Gen V forum.
I think we all no the volume in prod challenge really. This is why I push the mopar pkg option, the could offer kits like FRPP and others and not even worry about aftermarket. Tony's right, the point is we want the viper, hec otherwise we'd all be in a another forum by now. It kills me that I just spent $1400 to get a brown box that delivered 140hp to my door for my '14 GT500. 717rwhp result for 2 hrs work and less $ than a set of tires and I PASS EMISSIONS IN MD. Yea the last part is huge to me. I could spend a ton of cash to mod a gen4 or 5 but then in 2 yrs I'm effed in the A because of MD OBD scan. If I didn't like to tinker and personalize my cars I guess it'd be no big deal since the gen5 doesn't need more HP to set road course records, but the hobby is more than that to me. Personally I'm starting to really debate where I want to go in the spring with the car. I'm really hoping for some news from SRT that's more than yet another friggin shade of blue.
I don't know but if someone doesn't pull the head out of the a$$ at Chrysler they just wasted billions of dollars to make a handful of cars and close. *** don't they have eyes car will fail if they don't do something FAST. *** has happened at Chrysler no passion just a bunch of bean counters running the show, hire a few viper nuts to run the show, bet they would do better.
Wow is all I can say about my new Vette!!!! Love it and still get to keep the 04 Viper!!!! I'm the Guy SRT wanted and I purchased a Vette over the new Viper!!!!! And now she sits at the airport waiting for my return. Lets face it SRT dropped the ball. What something like 400 cars sold in (13). 5000 Vettes and counting. Yes you will see them on every corner but isn't that the point too sell cars!!! Get people driving them. The SRT dealer was sending his floor models to auction as two of his cars customers declined. Flame suit on.

I guess the good news is you can stop complaining about the Gen V finally.
. Well, ... crap. I was taking hope in seeing the centrifugal kits for the hemi's, sounds like maybe not.Just spent the week at SEMA and had some eye opening discussions with people who work with Chrysler and Ford supplying them specific parts and programs. I'm not naming names, but think of companies like Roush and Shelby. Apparently the thinking at Chrysler and Ford is to get away from supporting the aftermarket and offering programs through them and supply everything themselves. Notice the new Ford Mustang with supercharger is an all Ford product. The OEM's don't seem to care about the past relationships, they are only in it to get more top line revenue. This is the business plan of the future.
Mopar has very little quality support for upgrading parts on modern muscle and the price they try to charge just blows their parts out of the water. I've heard complaints about both Ford and Chrysler, but not GM yet. One company that has been a long time Chrysler partner was at the show and they are just at a loss for words. Ford will be a lot better at supplying parts through FRPP but they have the advantage of a huge market share with lots of vehicles using similar motors, etc.
So if you think Mopar is going to give you a quality product at a fair price, you're going to be disappointed. (even people within Chrysler do not like how Mopar structures the parts sales and often times never even sells the parts the Chrysler people want to offer to their customers). Mopar is always going to be 3 to 4 years behind the curve on what is hot and relevant. Just look at how they've handled the aero kit for the new Gen 5.....

MOPAR has been a complete disappointment.
$12,000 for the Gen V Carbon Fiber Aero kit, when it is $4,000 when you order with the car.
Get the f-out.
Source? $4k is already too much, $12k is completely insane.

After reading through pages and pages of opinions I think the single most important issue holding the Gen V back is this. No support. No tuning.
I just went to a car show they where 31 c7 and my viper was the only one there, my car got the most attention. the new c7 owners where not happy
what transmission is in that c7? Turbo400?
If you put a turbo400, drag radials, 200 shot of nitrous on a gen 5 you will be well into the 9s also.

EXACTLY why I would never buy a C5-C7 other than for a daily
