I'm looking to buy a 1992 double bubble hard top for my 1994 rt/10. Can some one tell me if the front pis are different? How is the installation? I thought the top was a remove and put on type application. I think there's more to it than that..
Thanks!!

The Mopar Hardtop requires the removal of the sportbar pad to install the top. As far as the front pins, Yes there are different length pins. The pins themselves are year specific, so as Jon B. says " The Year Matters!"

The pins from a soft top will interchange with the hardtop, but you have to use the right length (and year) front pin.

If I remember correctly there are 3 different length pins.

I needed some pins to put my Mopar Hardtop (a 96) on my 94 and I got them from Northwind Engineering.

Hope this helps, if you need more info e-mail me if you like.

If I'm correct,

Mopar hardtop can use the softtop side curtains(OEM) as well as the hardtop windows and are interchangeable.. The northwind hardtop can use the Mopar OEM vinyl side curtains also..

Correct me if I'm wrong please..

You guys are great! Lots of spot-on info. 3 latctches, pin / blade shapes, and depths. The class gets an A+ !

The "factory" dubble-bubble HT is a 'seasonal' top that requires removal of the padded strip atop the "roll bar." Its proper name is the Sport Cap Trim Pad. Not a qwik-change process.

The latch assbys from Mike Trost at NWE are the way to go....The MoPar replacements are almost $300 per SIDE !

92 was the wierdest soft top of all. Vinyl. Tiny, rolled, pressed-in pins.

As with all RT years, the painted soft top has a specific part number, and the 1992 top is obsolete. However, there are 4 new ones at USA dealers that have one in stock. E-me
