There are no significant changes in the GTS from 96 thru 99. Get yourself a copy of the latest Viper Magazine (try Borders or Barnes & Noble) and read Jon Brobst's article on "The Year Matters" for a description of year-to-year changes. If color is important to you, then that will determine the model year you're after (unless it's red).
As far as places to look for used Vipers go, the best selection is on this board's classifieds. Also try the high volume dealers who sponsor this site; although you can expect to pay more for a dealer car. You will generally find the cars advertised in Autoweek, Hemmings, DuPont Registry to be grossly overpriced. If you're looking for a 96 or later car, you definitely want one with a factory warranty.
