One of our members(multi-Viper owner) who received at DC love letter regarding the intake valve was pretty disappointed with the news. No one want to have their new motor taken apart and associated stigma of a defective car. The cosmetics of the SRT-10 is hard to beat and if a scratch is put on any of the components during valve replacement the $300.00 is worthless.

He suggested that DC keep the rental car and 300.00 and install roller rockers(owner to pay cost for the rockers) as an option which would distinguish the recall cars and make them more interesting rather than carry a stigma of low HP, etc.

Sound good to me.

Fred, I know you're one of the LAST people in the world that needs convincing that the SRT is outstanding. In Dodge's own words from their stock SRT specifications:.......

"roller type hydraulic lifters" and "The heart of this new system is an investment in a roller rocker arm of cast steel with a somewhat higher rocker ratio, that is, 1.73 versus 1.65 (old)"

So....... consider that request granted!!! When he gets his car back he should be REAL happy!! :D I keep saying it over and over again..... the new SRT is AWESOME, and ALREADY delivers incredible bang for the buck. WAY more than people really understand yet. Trying to figure out a bonus this car does not already have...... is going to be TOUGH!!!! :)
