You never know.....
Hello all,

When detailing yesterday I noticed that my mirror bases on both sides were holding water... Right on a bolt!!!.. After further inspection I found that the drain holes were clogged and just needed to be cleaned out...

You should have seen the crud under the mirrors!!

10 minutes of my time with a 10mm deep well socket and extension and all is well again..

Heads up!!

I'm scared to look at mine. Might require the dreaded "mirrorectomy".

Vic, lol

Does the "mirrorectomy" look the same after procedure, or is it in reverse.?

It's a one-way mirrorectomy, which means you clean your mirrors holes, not the other way around (that's a very very good thing)

Did that on my 95 long ago. Both mirrors did not drain properly. Also one tail light did not drain (missing the drain hole completely). Easy fixes to make them better.

Hey, Where is the plug for the power mirror at?? I took my driver's door mirror off and had to unplug the mirror. The female end dropped back into the door since the lanyard was so short. Haven't taken the door panel off to get at the other end to plug it back in...so for now I have one manual mirror.

I guess I'm safe - my car hasn't seen water since VOI8 in Texas two years ago. :)

Ellow, you are going to have to pull your door panel off then reach through you speaker hole with the window up to get your mirror wire back out the top of your door. The lead is short but if you disconnect the first Christmas tree you feel on that wire you will have plenty to work with then and there is no need to replace the tree so you will have room to work with it in the future, unless your one of those people that cant leave it loose
