Interior- Which did you choose and why?

I'll start-

I went with a Venom Black GTS with Gunmetal stripes.

I ordered the Sepia Laguna interior, which I've noticed my track rat friends love, but some don't. Also really like the straight black interior. Red/black interior with red stitching also is very interesting, although I wonder if I would tire of it over time.

What did you or would you choose?

A couple of beauty shots attached, to start the conversation. The Viper shown is Shadow Blue with Sepia, but it gives a general idea what the black/gunmetal with sepia interior would look like...

I ordered the same color combo you did for the exterior of the car but went with the black interior for a couple of reasons. I want to keep the black theme of the car as much as possible and I don't really care for the color of the tan interior (even if I did I'm pretty sure I'd have gone with the black anyway).

If you like the tan then stick with it. Its your car so don't let the opinions of others scare you off of the tan interior.

I would be getting an art so you can only get the seats in leather. I would be going with black.

The red/black on paper seems very attractive, but the quality of the napa leather appears to be on the cheap side. This was evidenced in the mule car I spent time with.

Ordered SRT, would have liked red/black interior but on the SRT it is just the seats that would be red. That would look weird, so I went with black Nappa seats instead. Had the complete 2-tone doors/dash/console been red on the SRT, I'd have gotten red.

Good advice. The challenge is ordering without seeing the car in person. I went to purchase a Challenger SRT8 when they first came out. I was sure that I would go with the Hemi Orange. Looked ideal in the magazines, and my first car was a Hemi Orange 'Cuda 383 Magnum. When the dealer received their first three cars, two were orange, and luckily they had a black one. Orange just didn't work for me, but the black was wicked. So I got the black one.

I think I'm going to stay with the Sepia Laguna interior, but have to admit I wake up thinking about it, LOL.

I ordered GTS Bright White, red interior...would have ordered the Laguna, but it doesn't come in red. Why? The white shows off the various black air vents, hyper black wheels and black rear applique better imo. The red interior is always a hot color, goes with the red calipers, and the planned custom painted 2 tone black with red mirrors.

Good to know. Both dealers that I talked to recommended the Laguna as well. For me, this car is such a step up that I was thinking I'd be happy with either the Nappa or Laguna leather. But that Sepia color is only available in Laguna, and I really like that color.

Custom paint, cool. How long are you going to drive it before doing the paint?

You're the first person to say something of this nature....please elaborate...

Look, the Gen V's interior seems to be the only thing no one is complaining about. Hell, it is even being exaggerated if anything. I think the top gear article that came out at the unveiling wrote it best. If memory serves me correctly, I believe the author said something to the effect of it being a fantastic interior with great quality, but they are doing anything earth shattering. It is just a nice interior.

To be fair, since Pagani, nothing is earth shattering anymore....lol

The leather in the GTS mule cars was paper thin and was not the quality I had anticipated based on the reveal pictures and the hype. Before I went into business for myself a former boss of mine once said " many of life's disappointments have to do with unrealized expectations." My expectations were high and they were not met. This is not to say that any of you won't be happy with the standard GTS interior. ColoViper also experienced the same interior and commented likewise. All of this assumes that the standard GTS interior did not change between the mules and the production cars. There is nothing to indicate that it has and when I asked Dick Winkles he just mentioned the laguna was the top of the line. The Motor Trend "hipster dork" Carlos Vega made mention of it as well, so based on this I'm assuming nothing has changed between pre production and production. Now I've never seen the laguna but those who have, say it rivals any of the top line interiors, period. Since the vast majority of us are relying on "independent" pictures it's obvious that the laguna leather is quality leather. (autoblog pictures) I have yet to see any independent pictures of the standard GTS interior.

This is concerning...can you please elaborate?

I've never been terribly impressed with Napa leather as is. I've had two cars with it, and it isn't anything to write home about. Better than cloth, yes - but - not as plush and soft as say a lambskin leather jacket.

I wonder how representative the pre-production interiors were. This article suggests that the production interiors may be nicer than the mules...

From the Sept. 10th Autoweek article:
"In both base and GTS Vipers, we liked the nicer interior surroundings, although SRT representatives were quick to point out that they weren't production spec and didn't allow photos. Even so, what we saw is a heck of a start with nice touch points all over and comfortable Sabelt seats that offered plenty of support."

If I wait on the convertible, I'm gonna want an interior that pops from a distance. So the laguna tan is definitely an option on the table.

It is a sign of the changing times that future searches for the word "Laguna" will now identify threads talking about the interior leather appointments of a Viper... instead of track visits to Monterey.

It's a good thing, it's a bad thing, I dunno. For me, I'd like to have both an ACR and a nicely-appointed GTS... yah, with the Laguna!

I was going to stay with Napa. I just can't bring myself to spend even more on an interior upgrade after a base of 120K. I assume the Napa would be more than sufficient for me, but I would love to see pictures of it, or better yet see it in person.

I drove the stryker red car with Laguna interior at VOI. The SRT gentlemen inside the car with me had concerns the Laguna upgrade would be too soft for everyday abuse...maybe just his opinion. I am also under the impression the Napa had alcantara or suede inserts. I would think this would hold my @ss in the seat better for the track.

Ralph described the GTS as a wine country cruiser or a track car, a Jekle/ Hyde if you will. I've found the four point harness to work best at the track.
