I am going to upgrade from my current 5psi pulley to at least 6.5psi. and use water alcohol injection. I currently use W/A injection on my G35 Coupe. It has cast pistons and 10.5 to 1, compression ratio. These cars are doing pretty well this way. I am very comfortable going to 6.5 but wonder if anyone has been using 8psi for an extended period of time. My car is an 01 and has Belenger Headers, Corsa Exhaust, and factory cats that will also be replaced. I am also adding roller rockers.

Your answers will be appreciated.

I assume from your question that you have a 2000+ car. With that said I got a ride in a 2000+ running 7psi with W/M and it felt great but the key is in the tuning. If it were me I would not go past 6.5 and I believe that is what Sean recommends as well.

I asked the same questions as you when I decided to go with the H2O/**** setup. Sean felt, as I believe other tuners have mentioned on this forum that going above the 6.5lb pulley would not be safe.

I've been running 8lbs for over year and a half on my 98' :D , however I do feel your pain since we can't go beyond 8lbs. I would suggest looking into your fuel system, make sure your pushing enough fuel. MSD's voltage booster is an effective alternative over buying a larger pump.

Matt, What other mods do you have to your car as those are good numbers. Have you thought about adding the W/M and going to 10psi? I know with stock heads it is more of a TQ gainer versus HP but every little bit helps.

I've been running on this setup for 18 months without any problems. Oh, and I also passed emissions with it too.

8lb Roe S/C
Belanger 1 3/4 Headers
Belanger Catback
No-Cats
70mm Accufabs
MSD Voltage Booster
Vipair 3" Intake tubes
K&N Cone Filters
Tuning = 4 degrees Advanced (Thanks to the dense Chicago air)

Thanks for your replies. With the 98 Matt has forged pistons and I am jealous. It may not be worth trying the 8psi, but I am gonna wait for a few more feedbacks.
Take care,
