This is my 5th Viper and one one was older than a 98 and all of my gen 2's have ended up with one or both fog light lens cracked. A fellow Viper owner just told me his just cracked tonight and he has on 01 model and mine is a 2k. So far I have know 2 guys in Austin, and two of us here in San Antonio with cracked lens. I did a search and this seems to be a common thing just like the cracking hoods. No way to prove it though as being a manufactures defect. Here are some more guys that have the same thing happen to them and it didn't happen due to using better bulbs like PIAA's or Sean Roe's kits.

- I am the lucky fellow 'cracked foglight' owner! I don't know if it cracked from heat of the light or a stone...

Has anyone found out if there is a part from someone other than Dodge that will work (ie cheaper!)?

Mine cracked too. I have heard it may be a simple Bosch fog light cover.

Ditto! $150 and replaced it myself, takes all of 15 minutes, aiming it isn't difficult either...probably could have got it replaced under warranty, but the closest place I trust to do warranty work is a 3.5 hour drive away...

Was the light still operational? If so, may have been a rock. Seems to be a problem with the 99 and newer(no fog lamp cover).

Almost never used to hear about that until the '99 model year. What's special about that? No more fog lamp lens covers. Rocks or big grasshoppers can crack a light.

This is NOT a manufacturer's defect. Live with it.

My '94 has covers that are always on and still intact, and the glass is cracked. Maybe heat+rain=crack? Anybody know of yellow replacement glass?

Hey, I just checked my 96 GTS. Both of the fog lights are cracked. The funny thing is they are both cracked the same exact way. There is one crack on both that runs side to side. I do have the fog light covers. The only thing that could have caused this was the 20 degrees temps in the mornings. I think turning the fog lights on in this cold weather may be cracking them. They are glass.....

I can tell you right now that this is one of the flaws just like the hood cracking and the side seals turning brown. The best way to correct it is to take the back of the rubber off and just let it hang there and nothing will get in because it just barely touching the back just enough to let the heat out.

Winter times = cleaning the Viper.
Yesterday: lying under the car and cleaning the front suspension and front fascia I saw the sign of AUDI (the four rings) on the backside of the fog lamp assembly...
