Sorry for the HUGE picture, I just bought a new Sony Cyber Shot 7.2 MP and I
don't know the correct settings yet? But it's a cool camera. (I think)

The factory paint job is far from perfect. I have orange peel all over the car. It's just one of those things you gotta put up with. You can try to wet sand it and re-clear it to get rid of some of the orange peel. Or you can just get a whole new paint job if you have money burning a hole in you pocket.

Most cars have OP from the factory anymore.

I always thought Vipers had pretty good paint on them. Aren't they wet sanded and buffed from the factory? Their nice paint was always one of the things that attracted me to the car.

Are you sure it is not a repaint?

I have had two 97 GTS Vipers. One had the factory paint and the other has been repainted by a custom paint shop. The custom paint is smooth and glassy looking while the factory paint had some orange peel and some fiberglass veins in it. (Not terrible but noticeable)

I've got some orange peel here and there, never bothered me. I figure most of them have it to some degree.

At least my 01 isn't bubbling by now, like some earlier models used to do after a few years.

+1. The Viper factory paint seems better than any other Dodge. Mine looks great, especially when sitting next to my Ram SRT-10.

It's 100 percent normal !period!
Red just hides the op.also the lighter the color the less you can see orange peel.

Normal. I have peel on my Yellow '01 RT/10. It's noticeable under flourescent light. I never noticed it until I did the Claybar->Wax routine. Some owners wet sanded their car to remove it, others ignore it. I chose to ignore it...rather put the wet-sand money toward a super charger.
