hey I am just one of those girls who truly likes a Viper guy, really doesn't matter what he looks like..... see, then he won't get mad if I have one or if I go to the track too much

I think the biggest problem with the ugly fat guys is that you can't take the car inside with you....once you get twenty feet from the car you turn back into an ugly fat guy..

You have to go to places with plenty of glass in the front and park where the car is visible from that glass.

They see you get out... They see you walk in... You're still the Viper guy...

Here's an observation from yesterday, when my son and I drove to DC Performance to pick up my Viper. (Striker Heads + Cam, Jesel rockers, Edelbrock headers, DC tune, 578 rwhp, 589 rwtq)
On the way back, I let my son drive the Viper, with me following behind in my daily driver Mustang. Traffic was heavy. HEre's what I noticed-
People look at the car from behind, from the side, just about anytime that they dont think the driver can see them. Both men and women look, especially kids. Lots and lots of attention. But then, when the adjacent lanes catch up to the lane the Viper was in, many look away, evidently not wanting to seem obvious, or not wanting to stare. Then when they think they are not being observed, they go back to looking at the Viper. Typically, from my perspective in the driver's seat of the Viper, I'm not aware of the entire effect the car is having on those around. But yesterday, as an anonymous observer, its obvious that even in trendy, jaded southern California, even an ole' 2001 GTS still looks quite stunning.

I'm n 100 Mile House at a 3 day Car Show. I parked my GTS on the side of the main road through town and went into a Sport shop to look at some guns. A few minutes later a young lady (20) walked intothe store and announced, "I was wondering if the owner of the Viper outside is in this store?" I said, "That'd be me." She asked for permission to have her picture taken beside my car. I said sure and then she asked me if I'd be kind enough to shoot the picture for her and held out her camera. No problem I said and went outside with her. I posed her beside the car, in front of the car, behind the car, beside the open hood and her BIGGEST THRILL - sitting inside MY car!

After thanking me a few hundred times she explained that the Viper was her dream car and I'd made her day. "You've made me happy for a long time!" she said and explained again how much she was going to love all the pics I took of her at my car and that she never thought she'd get a chance to actually sit in a Viper.

She ONLY cared about the Viper, not me. I'm sure she liked me more after I let her sit in my car ... but at first she only "had eyes for the car."

She told me that she'll be back tomorrow at the show.

My wife and I went to an Out Back Steak House and our waitress noticed I had a Viper Club Shirt on and said, “Don’t tell me you have a Viper”. The Viper is my dream car, “I have always dreamed of going for a ride in one” BlaBlaBla.
When she finally settled down a bit, my wife said to her, Dan will take you for a drive.
So, on the 4th of July I went over to her house, met her husband, and went thru the photo thing and then we went for a drive thru the hills behind her house.
As we were cruzing around and talking Vipers, I asked her what kind of car she has, well, the important thing was it was a stick shift. I pulled to the side of the road and said, OK, your turn!
Well, it was a few minutes before she settled down enough to get started. Once we were under way she was fine. She had the time of her life.

Before any one calls me a fool, I have learned it’s just a car and to help bring cheer to a hard working young persons life, Priceless.
It was the car that brought us together and that was all she was interested in.
As she put it, she has marked off one of the to-do things on her Bucket list.

After 600rwhp you DON'T let anyone drive the car as it's too dangerous for them and you. I let both my daughters and my son drive my GTS - because I trust them not to go past HALF throttle. Not sure my son can handle it as he doesn't realise what 120mph in the city means (even at half throttle).

i get mixed looks..sometimes i get more looks in my VW! but seriously some women get intimidated and dont want to give you the time or day and just look away. but as you take off you see them looking at you in your rear view.then you have some that wave and just throw themselves at you and thats when i get startled and play the cool guy and drive off... so its a no win win situaton for me..

You're married? Then you don't have to 'play anything'. Flash your ring finger and enjoy the experience with no pressure on having to put out, are your clothes neat enough, etc. Just enjoy that you or/and your car make someone happy! My wife figures I'd be a loser (*******) because I sometimes wear Black shirts with Blue jeans. She says there's 'some' rule ... It's nice to be reminded that many sweethearts just plain don't car what color shirt I'm wearing - when I'm driving my Viper at least, LOL.

I have noticed the EXACT same phenomena. People will look, when they think they are not being looked at or noticed by the driver.

Your right about the HP concern.
I have instructed at Viper Days for several years now, I learned right away that women listen, most men think they can handle the power and find out the hard way they need to listen.
I have put my two daughters and several of my nieces behind the wheel. My two sons had to wait to drive the Viper at the track. I have only let one male friend drive my car for the reasons you mention. Besides, I only have 450 hp.


I am a man, and I can resist anything, but temptation.
