Is this 1:64 Prototype legit?

Check out this Ebay link and see if you think this was a legitimate prototype. Looked like it to me. I dropped out of the bidding prior to the final price because I wasn't 100% convinced. Also, even if legit, what's it worth?

Why the hell is it so expensive??? If that thing fell on the floor one of my dogs would probably eat it.

Supposedly a prototype. He had other auctions going for non-Vipers that were going for more. I checked some of the recent feedback items, some over $200.00!
