Is this A/F ratio okay ?

I am looking at a street/strip car that had this bullet in the classified ad:

"Tune consists of 18* total timing with a safe A/F of 10.5:1 across"

Car is supercharged and is not a Viper but would appreciate any insights. Looking for a drag strip toy so I can lay off the Viper at the strip.

I would think that is a bit rich. Is it carbed or fuel injec.? I just had mine tuned and was safe at 12:1.

I would say the "safest" safe is 11.5 to 1

10.5 to 1 is too rich, and is losing power.

I would not call it too rich.The add says it all, 10.5:1 safe accross the board.For a supercharged car there is nothing wrong with that.you also have to take into consideration variables(humid ambiant air temps,gas,room for error.It is far better to be on that side to allow for the variables with a safty margin.12.5:1 is great for a N/A car.forced induction 10.5-11.5:1 is the place to be
