I am curious if the gap between the hood and the lower fascia (near the headlight) is normal? It seems awfully wide. Can this be adjusted? Could this be a sign of somthing bad... May be I am just paranoid.

Thanks

happens all the time. If you let me shut that hood, it would look a lot less of a gap. Its a result of just randomness, and also shutting the hood not firm.

If you have found this site and you are asking questions like this, why not ask one of us to look at it for you, we do that all the time. I notice you are In KS, the legendary Chris Marshall, one of or moderators is close to you, I bet he would look at it for you if you are looking for a serious opinion.

the track pins are out of alignment and that is what is causing that problem. realign the pins and this problem will go away. btw, been there done that.

Wouldn't even notice that on a black car :)

p.s. Notice the tail of the 1996 GTS behind the yellow car.....It was #8 off the line and went to a Chrysler executive. 1300 miles and an album with all the photos of the build process.

sbkim....you do know yellow is slower ????? Blue and white is fastest :) I will show you.

 1tony1 - I keep hearing the same thing about these yellow cars... Next to your beast, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find anything shy of jet fuel drag car being faster.

Lee - the car is in Ringgold GA and I belive I am in good hands down there ;)

fast Freddy - I will mention it during my pickup.

Thank you all!!!!

Have fun with it. I didn't notice any gap and neither will you after a few miles. :) :)

My 2000 GTS has a large gap also. Every car will vary a little. I adjusted the front of my hood down a little, but the rest of the hood lines up. So if I adjusted it down (in the back) it wouldn't line up with the doors. So I'll live with it. No one else will ever notice trust me, their looking at everything but the space in the hood.

It would be real cool if you could elaborate on the problem and the process to fix it. I've seen this question many times and have yet to see a definative solution. I'm sure there is one, I just don't know what it is.

Hi,
Do a search titled : Hood Gap... And you should find alot of info regarding this...I myself had issues with my hood and spent a number of hours fixing it...Its fine now.....just part of owning a "hand biult" car I suppose,
