While on the subject of K&N's, how often do you guys remove them , clean, oil and reinstall? Normal weekend driving, no exceptional dust to contend with on the highways I travel. I've heard that they actually flow and filter a little better when slightly dirty so it's not a real good idea to clean them annually....I run about 2500 miles per year. Thanks for the advice.....
Everytime I take it to the track, I clean it out afterwards. Under normal driving conditions, I clean it out as often as I change my oil, but I am pretty anal about those things.

In fact, K&N recommends spraying a bit more oil on the filter surface for dusty environment use without cleaning them first. Obviously if they are caked cleaning would be required, but for 2,500 miles a year an annual oil spray probably would be fine and maybe even preferable.</FONT f>
