I have reviewed the shop manual for my 05 and note the diagrams on engine electronic components reflect that there are 2 knock sensors on the engine. I also note that the pin-outs for the wiring harness reflect that there are 2 knock sensors. A little research on the net confimred that 05+ have knock sensors. I have looked high and low in the service manual and PCM diagnostic manual and cant find any info on how the knock sensors are monitored by the PCM nor what action the PCM takes if it detects pre-detonation. Common sense would tell you that the PCM would retard the timing a few degrees until knocking stopped but the service manual makes no mention of such. Is it that that service manual was just a cut and past of the 04 manual and thats why its not mentioned or were the knock sensors added but the PCM never programmed to take output from them?
