LO-TIRE light

[RX VIPER]

My 04 is showing the low tire light above the odo. I've got 32psi at all 4 corners. Any ideas?

Could it be outdoor temperature related? My '08 Ram light comes on when cold, goes off when it warms up.

Did you measure the pressure with warm tires or cool tires? If your tires were warm when you measured them, then the pressure dropped a lot when the tires cooled off and it would read low tire after they cooled off. Measure and inflate your tires with the tires cool. If that does not work then your problem is probably electrical.

That's probably it. I'll take it to the dealer. It was 75 degrees here Sun. and the tires were cool for that 32psi reading. Thanks for the responses.

The sensor can be easily damaged during mount or dismount, thi s will cause the light to stay on.....

We have also found the variance in gauges will have a dramatic affect on the sensors. We have customers come in and swear up and down that they had them checked and inflated to the correct spec only to find out the gauge they used was off. We just swapped out all our gauges for digital ones to insure they all read the same and accurate.

1. Move the car around some more, see if it goes away.

2. If not, may be battery time (replacment) for one of the sensors, or one is damaged.

3. Use a DRB-III at a dealership to figure out which one or why the system is giving the light.

You need to drive for a bit once you've set the pressures. The transmitters only sample pressure while the tires are rotating at speeds over about 35-40 mph. If you are only going around your block the light won't go out. Drive it a bit and the light should definitely extingush if the transmitters are okay. If the light stays on after a good drive and pressure, you'll probably need a new wheel sensor installed / programmed.

it should reset after 10-15miles of regular driving, if not the dealer can reset with special magnetic "donut" that goes over valve stem in conjunction with a DRB tool

I put about 50 miles on it this weekend with the light is still on. Oh and Chuck, I wish I didn't have this system on the car Seems like more of a pain. Hopefully this is a covered item?

doesnt take much time at dealer less than 15 min., you can certianlly double check your pressures (cold) and go for another ride
