LOL, is this possibly right about Viper's fuel economy?

17 seems a bit high, but 31 seems WAY high. What gives? Are the "transport canada test methods" that funky? Or the viper really is that fuel efficient these days?

The best I've got was 24 mpg. All interstate in 6th gear @ 70mph. I went 353 miles and my low fuel light does work.

I put on 198 miles freeway driving, stopped at a truck stop to top it off it only took 5.8 gallons. Thats 34 MPG. Wish I could remember what brand of fuel it was.

I did a 400 mile trip with my Viper and it was the only time I ever checked the mileage and it was 28 mpg at 70 mph. It gets great mpg if you drive it nice on the highway but city it ***** and if you use the go peddal at all it's horrible..LOL.. but so much fun.

In Canada we use imperial gallons which are about 10% bigger which would definitely make your mileage numbers better

An Imperial (true gallon) Gallon is 20% larger than a US gallon. Which is odd because a US fluid oz. is slightly bigger, but only because the quart is divided differently.
Making 24mpg in the US equal to nearly 30 in Canada.

It can also depend on the outside temperature and the overall grade of your trip - 34mpg! - that must have been mostly downhill.

The Canadian gallon is 6/5 (1.2) of a US gallon. 17 mpG is 14.2 mpg US and 31 mpG is 25.8 mpg. A US gallon is 3.78 Liters and a Canadian gallon is 4.54 Liters.
4.54 divide by 3.78 = 1.2

Wow, I didn't even think about gas mileage when I bought my Viper. Mine ***** in the city and does upper 20's on the interstate.
