Ive heard that a gen 2 radio bezel will fit a gen 1 if you don't care about the switches. Does anyone know if this is true?

So the key here is the 96/97 is a very limited number(Smooth, no texture). Even worse if you had a 1997 RT, one year only(No rear window defroster, smooth). The 1998-2002 GTS bezels are textured and different switches. They can be adapted and I sell NEW radio bezels for $300. You can use it, but if yours is just scratches, sand/paint it.

When, I installed a double DIN in my 06 SRT, I wanted to keep the
OEM bezel. I ordered one here for only $58. It was an OEM used part. They
indicated right on the sight that it had some very light scratches.
When it arrived the scratches were very minor scruffs. I modified
it to accept the double DIN head unit and the painted it with SEM
Trim Black (the factory standard for matted black parts across the
auto industry).

yes I'm still looking, the 97 has big switches and a defroster switch, I have the one with the small switches and a defroster switch, and a convertible bezel with big switches but no defroster, both are NOS but I'm looking for a exact replacement (previous owner had a switch cut into it and it makes me crazy) long story short, I need a part #KS79MX4AB, thanks Jamie
