Looking for pictures of Vipers with Forgeline VR1\'s ..

I'm considering getting a set of Forgelines VR1's for my RT and I'd like to see what they look like on a Viper.

Thanks !!

Ben Treynor has the same color and car as you with VR1's. Do a search and you will see what it looks like.

Jeff, those 19' wheels look great, but you'd be wasting alot of HP! Go with some 18's and get some sticky tires to put that power to the ground! :2tu:

I agree Casey ..I'm going to go with 18's, they have a better center of gravity and a much broader/less expensive selection of Rubber :2tu:

Casey,

Just wondering what you mean by wasting HP when you go with 19s? Are you talking about weight or gearing ratios or something else?

I just mean, that he won't get any traction in 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd on 19' wheels with all that power! :2tu:

I wanted to go with 19s also, but there is no way I would want to spin that much! So I got some 18s also, ready to go on this spring with some drag radials or kumhos on back.

Wouldn't a larger diameter wheel decrease the applied torque at the contact patch? Kinda like moving something around with a long stick instead of a short one?

T=f*d

f=t/d

The VR-1's are available in 18's, if that's what you want.
BM, I don't know about your theory, but 19" rears do have a slightly larger contact patch as well, which would be a plus on the traction side. Unfortunately, neither that nor your theory has anywhere near as much impact on traction as the nature of the tire, and there is no 19" rear that will hook nearly as well as the 18" BFG drag radial.

Re: Looking for pictures of Vipers with Forgeline VR1\'s ..

I agree. 18s are better, and sticky is even mo betta.

However, the relationship between torque(T), distance (d), and force (F) has advanced past theory & generally accepted scientific principle into the realm of a scientific known on this here blue marble.

Torque = force multiplied by distance (T=Fd)
Force = torque divided by distance (F=T/d) by algebraic manipulation

Assuming measured torque eminates from the center of the hub:

The larger diameter wheel & tire you have, the greater the distance grows from the center of the wheel to the ground, and the larger the denominator becomes in the algebraic equation, which means the force applied at the contact patch is weaker.
