Just wondering if anyone here has ever been able to remove themselves successfully from the "Lost Screw in Hood Club"??? I dropped a **** screw down in my hood tonight after removing the driver side "hood speaker"-(lol) to fix the rubber.

Yea..I knew a guy once that did that, can't remember his name, but I think he said he used one of those magnetic retrevial tools to get it out. You know the kind like you get at Sears or any other auto supply store.

Yes you can do it...BE CAREFUL, though. We almost screwed up badly removing the same screw from the hood of a 2001 GTS when the 2 ft. long cable type grabber BROKE OFF in the nose of this beauty...would make a great curb feeler, but wasn't quite in the right spot!! We removed the NACA duct, went in there with a magnet on a flex wire, AFTER we used a 2 inch magnet to move screw into position. It worked well, but I wouldn't want to do it regularly. If you want more details, give me a call. 317-402-9013.

On a friends vehicle we removed the screw by taking a large magnet covered with a thin soft towel and through the hood we moved the screw to the nearest hole. The magnet was stong enough to move the screw through the thickness of the hood without much trouble.

In the case that I mentioned, the screw went all the way to the very front of the hood...can usually hear it moving around when using the large magnet.

This thread would be a lot better if it was named "screwed on the hood"...and it was about something else.

It happened to me too, but the screw is in there still. What I did for the other side was spray that expanding foam to minimize the loss, it worked.
