Hey guys,
Looking to lower my car over the winter as it sits in the garage... Most likely will be going with the Motons unless someone comes out with shocks with shorter shock bodies that would work well with lowering springs... Who has the best price on Motons?

Also, are you guys running some type of rocker rails and skid plates (under the nose) in case you scrape?

Woodhouse. Call Mark. Great guy. I dont run any skidplates but have rubbed a bit on large dips or speed bumps but it rarely happens. You just need to be real careful.

You will love the new ride.

How does the ride compare to stock? Stock ride seems bouncy:dunno:

No bounce at all with moton. The car feels firmly planted. Best part is you can adjust the ride to your likely. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Call Mark Jorgensen at Woodhouse, he is the Parts/Service Director. He usually stocks them and has good pricing. H even had the helper springs with the kit.

Ride is great, the look is awesome. You can adjust it to ride like stock by going softer on the compression /rebound. Or you can turn knobs a few clicks and make it feel great up in the hills.

Motons cost more then the rest but are well worth it. Thats why I waited until I could get Motons. It was killing me driving around at the stock height, but I wanted the best ride and a product that I ve heard zero problmes with. You will be very happy.

Moton's are a great set up. I went w/KW's which I got from JonB for about $1K less than Moton's. KW's are what their putting on the new ACR's. Either one is a good improvement over stock. When lowered I find an occasional speed bump that causes minor scraping. Same thing with my '99 ACR, unfortunatley the sills are low and long.

The Motons were worth every dollar I paid for them. Got mine from Woodhouse.

Motons-all the way.

I just got mine back from Woodhouse and they did the Motons along with a few other mods-it is like a completely different car! I would do it again without hesitation, and if I could only do one mod ever on my car it would be the Motons.

So what about RUBBING issues with the 19x20 set up? I want to lower it an Inch?? When I turn the Front wheels it looks like it has very little room, and also will the rear tires hit the quaterpanels If you bottom out on a pothole or something similar?

If you don't go overboard with the lowering you will be fine. The inner fender in the rear may take some abuse though if it is lower than about 7/8" We have done the 19, 20 set ups here with Motons without any trouble.

Deam, don t you have Pirellis on yours, if so, they wont rub too bad if at all, depending on how low you go. Kurtis rarely rubbed with Pirelli's. When he changed to PS2's which are taller, he started rubbing holes in fender liner. But he drives aggressive and is still pretty low.
You can adjust the motons, thats the great thing about them. I rub slightly on big dips in the freeway and i m on stock 18/19's. As soon as my 19/20 wheels show up in a few weeks, I'll let you know how they work out. I still vote for getting the Motons, even if it rubs a little, its going to llok soooo good lowered on your wheels.:2tu:

Best advice, don't go too low. If you have the car aligned and corner-weighted after the install by a tech who knows the Viper, you won't have any issues.

I see many Vipers that are way too low, perform / handle poorly and rub like crazy, all for looks.

Motons are great. Call Woodhouse.

Ok cool, I appreciate the info MikeR. Yea I have the pirelli's but, I doubt i'll be able to get another pair. Actually when I compared my stock rims and tires, to my forgelines with tires, the forgelines were a little smaller, I was really suprised, as I expected them to be bigger with the 19x20? I'm exctied to see how your car turns out, you've got one bad ass viper :headbang:

I think that I have the biggest wheel setup with the motons installed( 20X10)front/ (20X13)/rear. I also have the pirelli p-zero tires on the wheels and I don't have any rubbing issues what so ever.

Got any pics with your 20" by 20" setup? Did you lower your car at all??

but how low do you have it?

Theres a few guys over on Viper alley that have pics of a 20/20 setup. Cars were lowered right onto the wheels just like a 19/20 setup. No issues.
the car could care less if you have a 18x10/ 19x10 or 20x10 in front as long as you have the right tire mounted, the overall diamter and circumference never changes.

Personally though the car is built with a staggered wheel setup and looks good, I think its best to keep the rear rim 1" taller. It just fits the cars look better.
