I picked up my Black/Red ACR last Friday and got to enjoy it Saturday but then had to fly out of town on business getting back home last night. I decided I would drive it to work today even if it was supposed to rain.

I can't tell you how many people wanted to go out and look at it, look under the hood, etc. I received emails from company employees asking about the car, was it mine? what year and version is it?

My Z06 never got that kind of attention.

For the future? I will have to make sure I don't have a lot of work to do when I take it to work again. :drive:

You are now more than an enthusiasts! Congrats. On the other hand ... think about how much work you get done when you arrive with that silly grin from having enjoyed your drive...
What a great car!

Congrats on the acquisition of a beautiful car!!! You'll get one complimentary year of VCA Membership from your dealer and Dodge, so make sure they process the paperwork for that!

In the meantime, if you'll put the VIN of that beast in your profile (only the site staff can see it), we'll get your status updated to Viper Owner!

Congrats! Yep, it always amazes me how much attention the car gets, I'm sure the ACR is even more so ... my wife always kids me when we take it, that she doesn't have time for all the chit-chat & car talk while we're running an errand.

My favorite was a 20-something girl came up to me and a friend at the grovery store & asked if I'd take her pic of her with her phone, in front of the car for her boyfriend, who was a car nut. I put her behind the wheel & she was sooo psyched, she sent the pic to him & he called immediately about how cool it was. I've put a few kids behind the wheel when I've been out when they come over and ask about it - had a group of teenagers at a 7/11 very politely ask to see the engine & one guy was like "you see guys, we finish school, work hard, and you get to earn stuff like this", I asked if he wanted to "try it on" and let him sit behind the wheel, it was great to hear him relate it to school & hard work. When I was growing up it seemed like every guy with a nice car that you'd approach & compliment was a d!ckhead, so I kinda go extreme the other way.

Enjoy - that black/red ACR is a beautiful car, one of my favorites of all time!

I've always had that happen too! I came out of an office supply store and there were some kids on the sidewalk staring...so I let them get up close and they just wanted to take pics with their phones. I'm always happy to let people take pics, even sit inside if they ask nicely.

Congrats on the ACR (you didn't happen to be at CAAP in June did you? I toured the plant with a guy from AK who was waiting for an ACR and was hoping to get an update from him).

I know I only have a GenII, but I wanna live where you guys live - where people think Vipers are cool - instead of living in car crazy Scottsdale where a Viper is just another "not a Ferrari or Lamborghini." We don't get much respect in this town from regular folk, only true car enthusiasts.

With as rare as the Viper is, and being just 5 minutes away from Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati of Washington, you'd think it would be different here in Northern VA, but it's not. People hardly bat an eye at the Viper. :dunno:

I got asked for the umteenth time last night to lend my car so a Dad could drop off and pickup his son in my Viper....sadly, can't do it!

A Viper gathers more attention than I ever imagined....sometimes too much.

Regards,
Aaron

The ACR gets attention because of the wings and spoilers. The stock viper has been around far to long with little visual change.
