Michelin is finally manufacturing the PS2 in a 335/30/ZR18 size.

I've been wanting PS2's for quite a while now, but didn't want to go up to 20 inch wheels.

These new 18 inch tires should fit nicely on the SSR Comp wheels (which are the lightest wheels I've seen for Vipers) This seems like a perfect combination. Reduced unsprung weight from the SSR's, and extra grip from the PS2's.

I just ordered a full set of PS2's (and a new set of SSR wheels) from Jon B at Parts Rack.

I'm getting 295/30ZR18/XL fronts, and 335/30/ZR18 rears.

Only bad news is that there is no firm delivery date as of yet. But, they are definitely on their way to American shores.

Can't wait.

one of our club guys who tracks his GTS recently had 17's fitted, he said on our UK forum

"PS2's are very nice to drive on - much softer in feel and good grip. However, I don't like the profile as much - they are much rounder on the edge which makes them look weird"

Are the PS2's better than the original Pilot Sports?
Some say that they are (quite vehemently), but I can't tell much difference from *new* original Pilot Sports. They are indeed *much* better than five-year old Pilot Sports, but new Pilot Sports would also be likely much better than any that have been on your car for a few years, since no sport tire maintains its original grip for many years.

I'm going to replace my 35,000 mile OE Pilots in the Spring (despite the fact that I've still got a good 15,000 miles of tread left  ). I'd like to hear some reviews from any of you after you've *** some miles on the new PS2's.

I'm still trying to picture what "looks weird" is like. LOL

I go though a set of tires every year or sooner running Viper days. Not that they are worn, but they get hard. I'm interested in track times first and not having them age so much within a couple of months, second.

They have a similar wear rating, but, they are much softer to the touch. They do not have as good a wet rating. My old PS tires would spin very easily in second (NA), but, now I have second gear traction with the PS2's.

I'm only interested in dry performace.

Sounds like they should be a slight improvement. Perhaps I'll give them a try if Viperdays doesn't have a matrix penality for them.

The rears have been available for a few weeks now in the USA. Michelin dealers only!

They have not been released in Canada so I had to import them myself, from the USA.

They run much quieter than the PSs and feel like they have better grip, especially on braking.
