:lmao:

Sure, we believe you... :rolaugh:

Can't wait to see the finished product, let me know when you're taking it to Gateway :D

What he said!! :drive::drive::drive:

How come nobody believes me?... :rolaugh:

One of the most dangerous sentences in the English language right there...

No doubt about it....:dunno:

Well, make that 215 Sapphire GTS's. :lmao: ;)

On a serious note, VERY COOL. That looks like it is going to be one very sick fun car. :2tu:

What?... It's still a Sapphire GTS...;)

Honestly, that was one of the hardest decisions....
To radically "modify" my first Viper....:(

I think it will be worth it. Waiting on some parts right now...

I am going to the shop today. The differential and custom brackets are done. Started on the cage. I will post some photos.

I ordered the powerglide transmission from ATF.
I have had some long discussions with Patrick and Jason at ATF about what I want and my expectations. I was also comfortable in the fact that they followed up on all the details of the auto conversion.
A good example of this are the Viper specific CNC'd billet parts and the custom built console for the new auto shifter.

NICE!
I know you can get a trans adapter from john donato if they dont have one already made. kind of spendy though.

Not trying to take anything away from atf just might be less to think about?

Congrats on the progress Mike. Looks like its really coming along.

It's exciting to see the new race car getting done. I am sure it will be killer when it's done. ;)

That is nuts! Nice............ Looking forward to see what's coming next. Will you be going turbos?

No Turbos (for now...), I am going to run a blower on this car.
I have a new engine from Arrow, Nos and a new 2.8 Kenne bell.
Going to push it with an ATF 2 speed tranny and a Bickel Racing straight axle.

The 2.8 is going to be too small.

But,... I think it will be fine for my first year in this car...;)

I am guessing along with a 300+ shot of NOS?

I want to see you with the first Roe car over 1000HP at the wheels!

Me, you, 3 honks.

You bet Jason...:headbang:

I'll be in your area this coming March for "The Mile".

We will do the "three honks" but I will be in the above cars' "big brutha'"...

It is a "comma car" (comma in HP rating...;)) like yours....:D

Like REDSNAKE said, I'm lucky enough to have a TT.(above) I want to run something completely "different" in this car. I WILL be running something bigger after next year....:)

That's what I'm hopin'... Looks like your car is right there...
Best part is the car will be able to handle it and put it to the ground....

Great update!

I can't wait to see what you put down. What are you going to use for tuning? AEM?

I have a brand new AEM still in the box for this car. So, I will try an AEM next year.
But.... The way this is going, I will probably be updating to Motec or Pectel.

We decided, just this past weekend, to build the new wheel tubs and entire interior back half of the car in carbon fiber.

This build started out as a "street car" with a 6 point roll bar....:rolaugh:

It just keeps changin....:D

You going to drive or is someone else? Obviously building a beast. Can't wait to see it done. Just make sure you take your time getting used to the car when that time comes. Totally different driving something capable of what you're doing. I'd personally recommend, if you have the time, doing Roy Hill's driving school. We used to host them for him at the track I used to own. He has an old pro stock car that would be perfect for you to go through. Would also allow you to get your NHRA license so nobody gives you lip when running it. Just a thought. Good luck!

Personally I don't think he needs to go to driving school. I don't think he's gonna be driving it at all, He's gonna be AIMING IT!
Can't wait to see finished product, it's definitely gonna look
BAD A**! Lol

Made a few MORE changes...since we were in there....:rolaugh:

Well, we decided that to get the best drivetrain alignment that I would need to remove the frame and subframe trom the seats back and build a chromoly "backhalf"...
You can see where the frame was cut and removed behind the console and seat back...

Next was to fit the new 2 speed tranny...

Seems that to get it perfect, we might need to do a little more modifying...
The existing OEM frame runs along the bottom of the center console tunnel on both sides....
See it here....

Now you don't.....:dunno:

(Tech is placing new torque arm mount)

That is the new tube frame under the transmission /\/\/\/\/\

So it is tube chasis from the firewall back now...

Next is fitting the straight axle. Cut the ends and order the axles...

Went down the other night and made a tire template to see what it will look like...

Gett'n there....
