By the grace of God, my rear view mirror fell off. I love it I can finally see what's in front of my face. But I can't stand driving in traffic with no mirror. The side ones ****. I have read the recent posts about moving it and how to properly reattach it. What I really want is a smaller mirror. Anybody replace theirs with something else. I'm thinking the street rod guys should have something flat black and much smaller to put back. Any one??

Try this: move the mirror about 5-6" to the right and depending on your height, maybe a little up or down. You'll get 80% of that new visibility and still have a rear view. You'll be looking over the passenger's left shoulder.

You'll want to keep the OEM mirror; it has the interior light when you open the doors and also a pale light when the headlights are on so you can see inside the car. Unfortunately, it's big, it's heavy, and if you don't follow the directions exactly, it'll fall off again. (I know.)

Somebody mounted the mirror on the dash. It would have been a perfect place for Dodge to place it but without any support I don't think it would work as an aftermarket placement.

At least on Gen 1 cars, the dash you see and feel isn't stiff enough and the mirror vibrates. An option would be the small "post" from dash to windshield frame and the mirror mounts to it. Think small British sports car...
