In 2008 I picked up a Momo shift knob for my car. The problem was that it uses set screws to attach and that made it sit way too low. If I wasn't careful I could smash my fingers going into 1st & 3rd. So I finally got around to taking some measurements for an intermediate shaft to add a few inches of height to this knob. Pictures...

The new part on the right test fit to the threaded piece from the mechanism.

Hopefully no more bloody knuckles when driving :)

Special thanks to a good friend who had the impressive skills to make that beautiful new part from a hand made drawing that I sent him. Well done sir!

nice job, hey your center plastic bezel lifts up in the corner next to the leather boot just like mine, I wonder if anyone knows a fix for that?

Johnny, I tried to add more velcro to that corner to keep it down but so far it hasn't worked. Hopefully I can come up with a more effective solution soon.

Bill, definitely agree that MGW has great products and it would have been 10 times easier to install one of their shift knobs in place of the one I have. This one was given to me as a gift after buying the car so it lead me down an interesting road to adapt it to the car. I'm very grateful that my friend was able to help with this new part.

Understand , and was the gift from a really cute blonde, about 5'6" with great legs and .... a really huge brain?

How did you know?!?! :2tu:

thanks, keep me posted if you find something that works :drive:

My buddy suggested JB Weld to keep it down. On the one side he may be on to something.... and on the other side he's a little nuts :rolaugh:
