Momo steering wheel/hub adapter

I just bought a momo steering wheel, momo hub adapter, and quick disconnect. My question is after taking the steering wheel off do I need to completely take off the clockspring (blue plastic in the middle black outside rim with stickers) or can i keep the clockspring on there then mount the hub after that. I've searched all over this forum and viperalley forum and haven't found much. I know that to disconnect the clockspring i need to disconnect the plugin @ 7:00 and take the two clips out however what do i do about the wire that is connected right next to the plug at 7:00. I guess iam just looking for some help and guidance any info would be great. It is a 2000 GTS.
