who here has the most rwhp on stock motor with nitrous? what is the biggest size jets you can use at a safe level? i know a few guys are running 640+ horses on stock motor. that much power seems a little scary on a stock motor but as long as your getting the right amount of fuel i guess its as safe as 75-200 shot.

Take it to a dyno and check the a/f to be sure. I used 52/28 and made +145 rwhp on a stock bolt on motor (before heads) I also have tried 53/34 and 55/40 no dyno numbers for those. Get some lower heat range plugs just to be safe (I don't have plug # handy but if you need it let me know). Also be careful with the VEC1 as it can give you too much timing and cause pinging. Optimal setting for motor ONLY is to lean & advance the timing with the VEC1, that's exactly the opposite of what you want for nitrous.

PS get a window switch

There is to much variation from car to car - YOU HAVE TO DYNO FOR AIR FUEL. If you can't easily dyno don't play with it. The plug you want to use is the NGK #FR5-1. This plug will dyno exactly like the stock plug when off the bottle. The stock plug is an accident waiting to happen.

At approximately 125-150 plus rwhp the propane pressure drop and the delivery system will limit the fuel enrichment and you will start to go lean. Gen I models are even more limited in the ability to supply fuel. BTR offers a gas enrichment kit for further hp.

Once you get more fuel into the engine at approx 50 additional hp you will find that the N20 delivery system starts to limit your hp and the car will start to run rich as you increase both
jet sizes. At that point changing to 6AN lines and a high flow N20 solenoid will allow you to continue with N20 up to about 60-63 jet size. At that point the sprayers are limited out. There are multiple scenarios and my comments only refer to single stage sprayer systems.

Your goal should be to get the max hp and still stay at 11-11.5 air fuel. This gives you some safety factor, plus the dynamics of acceleration and ram air will drive you leaner when on the track. I agree with MES, the VEC1 works fine without the bottle, however, it has limited use on the bottle - your a/f should be dictated soley by the jetting.

My car makes 660 to 675rw consistantly using the VEC-1 at +8low,-16high with 10:1 A/F(I like RICH)and Run 134-135mph all day.Different cars/VEC-1 combos may not work the same, but I never need to adjust settings on motor or juice.Stock motor/Fuel system.

WINDOW SWITCH - if you miss a shift and the rev limiter actuates, the N2O continues to fill the intake. When you come off of the rev limiter - boom. The window switch should be set at 5800, the rev limiter is set at 6200.

It could also be a devastating to actuate the N2O at low rpm, especially in 3rd or 4th gear. I have mine set at 3000. It is also in series with a fuel pressure switch (gasoline enrichment) and a 3/4 throttle switch.
