MP3 CDs

I know I'm not supposed to care about this, but did all SRT (2003 and up) stereos play MP3 CDs? If not, do you know what year it changed?

Is there a Dodge/Chrysler unit that did play MP3s? I swear I saw one once. I think it was the latest unit that also had navigation built in..???
If so, I would assume it would be plug-n-play?
Any comments?

I believe the new MyGig units will play MP3 files but they will not fit in a Viper without modifying the dash for a double din unit.

you can plug in an alpine cd changer and it can read mp3 i had it in my prowler.

Someone had a link to the 09 owner's manual and that said that it did play them, so does anyone know when it changed? Or, if you happen to have an SRT manual handy for 03 to 08 would you mind checking it out? Thanks!

my 08 ram will play a cd burned from itunes library, listen to them all the time

I've had a 93, 01, 03, 06 and 08 (with RB1 Nav) and none of them would play MP3 CD's.

I put aftermarket units in all of them for that very reason.

The 2008 and 2009 single disc player has MP3 capability...

I use it to keep about 150 fav tunes on a disc... it's better than a 10 disc changer.

It is plug and play compatible with the 03 through 06 cars though if you want mp3 in dash.
