Just got Motor Trend Jan 2005 issue. Why are the auto rags so bias against the SRT-10?
In the mag there's an article on the SLR McLaren. Cool. In a sidebar, they list the 'fastest' cars as a comparison. The SRT-10 isn't among them.

I tried to figure out why. It looks as though 0-60 was the order for the cars as the 1/4 mile and trap speed were all over the place. The slowest car on the list (by 0-60) was the GT-2 Porsche. Hmmm. On page 158 they list the SRT-10's 0-60 time as 3.9. OK, so it's even. What would YOU use as a tie-breaker? How about 1/4 mile? The SRT-10 is 11.8 @ 123, the GT-2 is 12.1 at 116. SO, in MTs' wisdom, they include the Porsche, even though the Viper is quicker than 4 other top cars on the list (Diablo VT 6.0, Mucielago, 911 turboS, and CL65 AMG)

The only faster cars on the list are the Enzo, Carrera GT, Saleen S7, and Ford GT.

Bias? or Brain fart? You decide.

It's called 'import fever' or 'stupidity'. Some folks just think that in order to stay in class they must consider the Euro brands only. You don't see S7 on the list either.

These are the same folks who demeaned the Gen II car as "cartoonish."

They are about selling advertising. You can get some information occasionally from that tabloid, but the conclusions are, at best, suspect.

Read it for the entertainment value...like the NY Times and Washington Post.

Motor Trend also has a figure eight track test that puts all the car's
on the track and times them. the SRT-10 is FASTER then all the cars that you
listed. Its in the Mag!

I agree I read that same article and thought these guys have to be smokin something. Someone should e-mail them about that.

Who ever give them more advertising money gets their name in the mag more
