MUST READ - GTS Dyno Comparison

Hey all,
I made the title "must read" because of the dramatic difference in power that my 99 GTS has recently made...
The car is a 99 with Henn. headers, high-flow cats and Borla cat-back, 1.7 T&D RR's, 65mm TB's and K&N. Last month I posted a dyno sheet and was dissappointed with the power. Here it is:

Here's the good news: I changed my wires (with ab's quality wires) and he added Champion plugs and I redyno'ed. I immediately felt the difference! Remember, NOTHING else was done to the car and it was the same dyno, same weather, same tester:

That's right - Nothing but a wire and plug change = ~30 RWHP and ~35 RWTQ!!!
I checked with the tester and was told that with the "sniffer" that the A/F is consistenly .5-.6 lean, so my ratio is fine and the car runs SIGNIFICANTLY better. Better throttle response and obviously more power.

FYI- My stock plugs looked fine and the wires looked 100%, so without the help of you guys on this forum I would have never suspected that to be the issue. Also, thanks to Terry MacDonald (Viper Tech) in OKC for his service and to Adam for quickly providing a very quality product (he sent them to me before I even sent payment).

Now, this car runs strong - so, I HIGHLY suggest getting these wires and changing your plugs from stock - this dyno tells the tale.

Dont Gen II dyno between 415-420rwhp? Shouldnt he be making more than 441rwhp with those mods?

Congratulations. I think that you did the right thing by testing with ONLY the sparks and wires changed out. Gives a great comparison. Does not muck up the results. That is a fairly hefty increase. Perhaps those with 99 and previous year Vipers will start to consider a switch.

I think dynos are like dragstrips, you can run 11.8 at one and then go to another one on another day and run .5 slower/faster.

My 98 dyno'd at 424 bone.

I had a couple PM's so, for others: Car had under 10,000 miles and it ran fine with no "hiccups" before.
I would have never known to change wires/plugs if it wasn't suggested...

But there was no test to compare new OE wires to AB wires. That's a lot of HP from a wire change. I'd think the ones he had on to begin with were suspect..

Speaking of things in that area..I did change plugs a few weeks ago rounding up 3 sets from local establishments, choosing the ones that indexed in perfectly with the ground electrode pointing straight down and the gap pointing straight up. Then returned the ones I didn't want.

I was careful with all the boxes and plugs, so no harm was done, and I got to choose the ones I wanted.
