I was a judge at a car show, and I remember a guy with a brand new challenger(right when they first came out) thought he should win over a very highly modified srt-8 jeep.
When I told him I was the one of the judges that judged his car, and pointed at my viper that didn't win(I didn't let anyone vote on it), he shut-up.
I pretty much only go to charity car shows or "freebie" ones where there is nothing to win.
