Ok been a week since I have owned the new toy, believe it or not I still have not driven the snake. Today that all will change, playing hooky to spend the day out on the road with the serpent!

i have seen this car on ebay if i am correct. I gather you work a lot because then it will make sence that you have not had a chance to drive the viper. Not sure about the mighty wing and (hope it s vinyl) paint scheme. Enjoy the the car and congrats!

Oh yea that's the way I like them! Just like my ladies! LOL Really all my MOPARS have wings! The lower skirt is done in a carbon fiber. I just got back from a 2 hour 100 mile jaunt,
the most legal fun I have had in a long time! I had to modify the seat just so I could fit, all is well, I may not even have to lower the seat the ride was comfortable.

You look a little scrunched in there. A company named Northwind makes a seat lowering kits that can drop you down 1 or 2". Changes our your seat slider for a lower profile one. Allows you to look out of the windshield a bit lower too.

If you are interested in making the interior feel a bit more spacious, many have simply removed our visors to open things up a bit. Only takes a minute, and if you don't like it, they go right back in.

Some Vipers came with Zero Pressure tires "run flats"

WHen they got old and hard, the tended to not have as much traction as the newer tires.

If the tires on your car are older than 6 years, the also tend to get slick with age.

Just letting you know that if your tires are old, you need to be more careful when getting on it.

Typical suggestion for new owner is to be sure you are pointed straight ahead before you floor it. With so much torque available from your V-10 they can often get away from you when you are not expecting it.

Looks like a lot of downforce on that deck lid. If youre going
to keep the wing I would make sure its supported vertically -
last thing you want is for it to push through your trunk... or
fly away with it.

Ive seen this car for sale before too - I am assuming you
didnt create the paint scheme? Its not my cup of tea, but
with a few touch ups I guess it could be nice. Like Cubican
said - double check those tires - dont want your season ending
before it starts.

Congrats and be safe. It's not a vette and it will get away from you real quick. Seriously take it easy for a year or so and get into some local driving schools. They love the track.

Note: 20% of all Viper are wreaked by the owner in the first year of ownersship.

Wasn't that only the Gen3/4 cars? I thought the Gen 1/2 cars have a spare tire in the trunk. Anyway, he has the Gen3 10 spokes on there so maybe runflats as well.



Is that some kind of aftermarket splitter on the front?

IMO, for what it's worth, the stripes on the back are ok, but the ones on the hood gotta go. And if you like a wing you should get one designed for the viper. That will make a bid difference. Just my opinion.

Thanks Paul, the tires are pretty new, less than 2 years old and 1500 miles. I know the look is not for everyone, but I dig it so that's cool with me. Thanks for all the advice, I don't mind the suggestions.

That is a very astute observation, IMHO. I used to HATE tatoos and thought that they were low class, except for maybe tribal tattoos. I do not think that I would ever get any, it is just not my style. However,as it turns out, no one that gets them cared that I didn't think that they were appropriate, LOL ! Now that I know people with them, I have a better appreciation for other's taste in self expression.

Stripes look like a play on the old school HEMI stripes.

I don't think it looks stupid. Kinda give the car a unique character, and goes with the black wheels.


If you mean 'legal fun' in the sense that the car is not stolen, has current tags and insurance, you still have your license, you stopped at the red lights,......then your doing great.
If you mean 'legal fun' in the sense that you kept to the posted speed limits, didn't ever spin the tires up, didn't accelerate aggressively, didn't brake aggressively, didn't go around corners too fast, didn't scare any children or old ladies, didn't explore the upper end of the speedometer on the backroads, ............most importantly, didn't scare yourself,.........you might want to try again.

The Viper is such a wonderful experience.
Oh yeah,.........watch out for cops.

Yea I like the uniqueness of the look. I come from the mopar world where there are two kinds of guys. First there is the 100% factory stock, right down to the rivets that hold the vin plate, then there are the guys like me that like what they like. I am the kind that wants the hood scoop, rear billboards and rear gowing! I know there are the purests here and I respect that and their cars. But in my mind the Viper is such an over the top kind of car that they look good in a lot of different configurations.

Repainting that car would raise the value of it. -even if it was just ghetto primer.

Diego- Welcome, have fun and be safe. Glad to know the car is not running around on original run flats.

Next thing to do is take it to the track. (Road Coarse) Check with Jon B at Parts Rack. He will know of a good driving clinic in your area. I am not sure if NARRA runs any events near you.

When you drive the Viper, the devil is riding shotgun, it's not a matter of if you be tempted to push it, it's a matter of when. Learning the limits on the track with a seasoned instructor will not only enhance your confidence on the road, but it may even save your life.

The Viper is not safe.

......That is what makes it so appealing to most of us.

An instructor at a roadcourse is the best advice.

Also, there aren't cops hassling you about the speed limit at the track.
