My First Viper Video........check it out!

Had a neat little 35 second clip sent over my way from some guys that taped my 1/4 mile run on a digital camcorder last Wednesday night, so tossed her up on the media site.

Not sure how to link right to the video, but click here to view it (Minor caution: A couple swear words by the excited video crew in case you have the speakers turned up at the office)

Pretty horrid run really, in the 40's and dark not the best for traction, but I was having a blast, as the smoke will show, the guys were edging me on for a smokeshow, and truly thought what the h*ll, this is one of the few times to have some fun without the popos breaking up the fun, so the smoke did roll.

Timeslip for the run: reaction .771 - not too bad!
60 foot 2.20- Neon Expresso time
1/4 ET 12.63- Omni GLS time
1/4 MPH 118.42- Ahh getting somewhere

there is hope yet, to have no traction and still pull in the 118's, listen to the slam into 2nd, actually had to back off and restab to get the thing to hook, blame that on the slick road, or my viciously violent slams, ummmm, go with the former!

actually your right Brett, the video cuts off right before I miss 4th gear as has become my forte, had to fib about the 118 part!!

my earlier run was closer to 119, so the power is there, my pathetic driving is not!

I'd say you have the burnout down. Were you doing that to your Pilots or do you have slicks? .771 = good?

Ya, better than a .772. j/k Hard to cut a good light without a line lock and staging a little deep.

Looks like all had fun! 40 degrees is a bit cool.

Way to to thrash on it! Loved that 3rd gear scratch.

Had to roll into the 1/4, that Chevy Pickup had one of them thar K&N filterchargers on there, cheating to steal the victory!

Sean, I'm up for some test and tune action with all of us, although I thinking you'll put me away with your 300 word mod list, but I'm silently working on my own little list!!

I'll tell the kids that taped it to bring a tripod or they can't tape me next time VRE!!!!

Getting any decent traction in 40 degree weather is pretty tough. Last year at Milan I shifted into 2nd and spun so bad I had to let completely off the gas too. Bad track prep at Milan. You didn't do the burnout in the water box did you? Since on street tires this will hurt your traction. You, Brett, and I will have to get together at the track one of these days and get some more drag race videos. Viper vs. Viper. Or maybe we could have some valet parking competition. We could do a power slide into a parallel parking spot like Eddie Murphy did with a Viper in that one movie, you know the one with him as Buddy Love.

Yeah, I may have a 300 word mod list, but the most important mod, me, needs some help in my driving skills if I want to break into the 11's at this crappy Milan track. I am going to do a lot of playing around with my shift points and shift technique this Summer. If only I lived near Englishtown, NJ I'd already be in the 11's.
