I don't think there is any one car more magical than a Viper. Not even cars three times the cost of a Viper get the same reaction as a Viper. Fact.

Congrads Ryan and best of luck. I remeber two months back when mine was delivered by transport to my house. My 11 year old son and I waited anxiously as the rear doors opened to the transport and down she came. "Viper, Oh what a feeling'. LOL

Take it nice and easy and learn the car but most of all respect it.

Keep it - there won't be any more Viper GTS made. Don't trade it! Be very, very carefull driving it - both fast and slow. (Slow driving usually involves trying to avoid scraping the front fascia, but always in vain.)

The steel gray is a fantastic color and it was only offered in '00 - it's one of my favorite colors.

Post some photos of your pretty beast.

...And:
1. Don't eat food in your Viper!
2. Don't let others touch your Viper unless wearing gloves.
3. Don't use a cell phone, unless you're talking about your Viper.

Your comments reflect my experience today --

I also drive a Prowler which gets lots of attention, but today my son and I drove the Viper to San Antonio and were videoed and photographed by at least 3 other cars. On the way home there was a 3-car accident immediately in front of us (traffic slowing for a construction area). The driver in front of me ducked down a grass embankment, but we had plenty of following room and brakes. The driver behind me runs to the window and says "Are you OK, I would have cried if I hit that car!" (Drivers of the 3 cars in front were OK, but air bags deployed and all needed to be towed.) The Viper gets plenty of attention. Good luck and enjoy.

ENJOY! VIPERS RULE! As you said it is a nice feeling to see the enjoyment the Viper brings to others. I always allow at least 30 mins for fuel stops to interact with the crowd it draws. Be prepared for the kids in your neighborhood to stop by with their mothers to take pictures with the Viper...or are the mothers bringing the kids with them? LOL!

Congrats, along with the good is also the bad. Be careful of the tq monster as it bites when you rarely expect it. Btw if you think you get attention, try driving a red one with white stripes lol :D

Welcome. Beautiful car. You did well.
Just a little "trick" I picked up from this board when I first got my car....
Go and buy a Polaroid camera and keep it in the car with a ready supply of film. You'll have people constantly coming over to gawk at the car, especially kids. Offer to take a photo of them next to your car and give it to them. Watch their faces light up as the picture develops. You'll make their day.
Again, best of luck and drive safely.

Good idea - I like it!

I think half the fun will just be making people's day with this car.

-Ryan

The other half of the fun is picking on lesser cars!

(tongue-in-cheek joke)

Congrats!
Lube the aluminum door hinges, before they wear, and sag.
Don't wax the "hood speaker grills".
Don't lean on the center console, they crack there. I'm making a bracket to support my replacement console, riveted to the tunnel underneath.

Enjoy, and stay safe. The Viper is SO much fun, best car I ever owned.

*edit* I just looked at the picture. That is a fantastic color for the Viper! Really brings out the lines of the body. I wanted tht color too, but missed out that year. And your front end is really clean, which shows that the car hasn't been abused. Very nice specimen you got there!
