Thank's VIPER D for hosting them!! :2tu:

If you look at the pic showing the frame rails the driver side is bent toward the passenger a total of three inch's.
The other pic to look at is the one were it shows the drivers door and fender damage there is a silver spot about a foot in front of the drivers mirror, Thats a tear in the cowl support witch is made from *** metal. You can see the interior in that hole/tear.

Just got the word from the insurance co. It's a total loss :(

They did try to do a estimate, here is some of the part cost's

Frame 18000.00
Rims ( not including r/f tires ) 12000.00
labor 35000.00 WOW

Thats why they totaled it. There were a millon other items listed. At the end the adjuster even admitted it's time for a new viper.

BIGBADCJ,

I will let you know as soon as they settle with me. The car is at Fat Alberts Motorsports in Phoenix. There telling the car would make a great parts car and that's it. The pictures only show so much.

Jesus, I could gut that thing, get the frame fixed cheap out here, put some new lightway body panels on the *****, forget about the rims and put Purner race wheels on there, and make it a track car. Is it just frame work and some body panels, or was there damage to engine components or anything under the hood?

That's great that it's totaled by the insurance company. $12K for wheels....so when they changed from the clamshell hood to 'save insurance costs', they figured they would make the other parts priced like they were made out of platinum? What A JOKE.

Ask the insurance co. what your cost will be on buying the car. You have first option. I would like it for an R&D car, but would have to buy it from you. You should be able to come out a few thousand ahead buy doing this, in addition to your settelment.

Something to consider if you buy the car back. Most of the time they will not pay tax on the remainder of the settlement if you take your car back. This is a chunk of change on a 75K settlement. :usa:

Correct, but most ins. co. will allow you the difference between what you paid for the car, and the cost of the new new cars tax amount. Some states may do this different. In other words, if they let you buy the car back at 20-K and a new on cost 80-K they will reimburse you the tax amount on the 60-K difference.

That is not a total. If you want it to be a total or if you want the best repair job done and advice dealing with the insurance company the best guy in the world to talk to is probably JonB at Parts rack.
