Just came out of car.Driving for an hour. When I shut off car the fans where spinning and sounded like they were touching something. What should I do? Car is running great...Sounds like a paper hitting the fan blades when coming to a stop.

Finally got it !

Check if it ate a bird. No joke, I found a bird torn up once after a speed limit drive!!!!!

I had something similar happen and found the bearings worn in the fan motor. A new fan assembly is not expensive or difficult to change.

I wouldn't let a fan continue to hit something without finding out the cause. If you can get the car on a lift, it will be easier to inspect. With car off, try to spin the blade and listen for the sound. Worst case, new fan for 99'-up around $160.

Yo Backnblack,

Check your fan shroud..it sounds like the blade is hitting the inside of the shroud. If you look at your fan blades...it has a circular edge that is inside of a circular edge of the shroud...that is where it's most likely touching....pull on the blades of the fan to see if there is any back and forth movement on it...if so..then the bearings might have gone...but like I said...check the shroud.

Oh by the way when checking the fan..make sure it's spinnning at high speeds...makes for a more of an interesting repair.! LOL!

Mine did the same thing, it was like the heat from the engine warped the fan blades.
