I'm having some issues with what feels like the ignition not firing in all cylinders. The car run fine most of the time, but if I'm chugging along in a high gear with little to no load on the engine, you can suddenly feel the power level drop and the exhaust note changes. If I give it gas, it just pops and backfires, but will usually "wake up" after about 5 seconds of that and be back at full power. If I down-shift, it come back on full power immediately. This only happens sporadically and there is no relation to how long I've been driving at all. This was happening before and I put new plugs in, new wires from Adam and a tune from Dan, hoping that would solve it, but it didn't.
Are there individual coils that could be going bad? Like I said, it runs fine if your on it, doesn't happen all the time, and comes back to full power every time. It has to be something electrical. Please help! It's driving me crazy!

Sounds like a short or a bad connection. Problem is that being intermitten, it's probably only able to be found when it's bad. Could it possibly be the injectors? I suggest disconnecting the battery and then opening and visually inspecting all the ECU and coil connections. Perhaps breaking and re-engaging the connectors will find a dirty one or 'fix' the problem. The fuel pump may also be an electrical issue (fuse, relay, etc.). You could instal an air/fuel and a fuel pressure guage to check when the problem comes back as well.

Been through quite a few tanks of fuel from different places, so that shouldn't be an issue.
No CEL.
No codes thrown when I checked it with my SCT.

I'm leaning towards Ted's thoughts. I'm out of town right now, but will try to check some of that when I get home. Intermittent is a *****. I want to make it home, but I wish it would it would do all the time when I get home to actually have something to look for.
