Northern Tool & Equipment has a new Omega "Magic Lift" 2.5 ton floor jack that lifts from 3.75 inches up to 20 inches. Just got mine and it works perfectly! Glad I didn't spend the $300 to $500 plus for some of the other low-profile jacks I almost bought. It lists for $129.99 plus truck shipping (96lbs) of about $50. Looks a lot like the Pep Boys jack but this one is bigger and raises to it's full height in only 6-pumps! Get one qwik before Northern figures out what they got and raises the price!!!!!
Their # is 1-800-533-5545, the jack is item # 144470-C154

I just called regarding the $129 jack (also wanted to see if it was *really* that heavy/expensive to ship!

). THEY ARE OUT OF THEM and will not be getting any more. They actually overcommited, and *someone* who ordered one is not going to get it!

I guess I'll bite the bullet and call john@ccwheel.... Haven't been able to find anything in No CA that is reasonable....

I ordered one first thing this morning. I wonder if I am the "someone" that is not going to get mine. Been looking at a lot of low-profile jacks. At that price, I felt it was worth the risk. If it's not worth a d***, I'm sure I can find someone to reduce my outlay, then outlay the big bucks. (half as much as john@ccwheels but twice as stout?) We'll see!!

They are now accepting orders again - I guess that so many people called, that they decided it was worth carrying them again.
The shipping part ($$) is painful! Still torn between this and the aluminum jack from ccwheel...

New info about the jack. It fit under the car at the front lift point just fine, but as you jack it up, the ramp on the jack pivots up really close to kissing the side sill (because the lift pt is set so deep under the car's sill). However with careful positioning and rotation of the saddle it does work. BUT, because I am so careful w/my cars, I found myself driving the car up on my trusty 1x6's ... JUST TO BE SAFE! Still a great jack, YES it is heavy. But once you have it on your shop's floor... who cares- it's got wheels. I've looked at Ferrari's, Porsches-every "low riding" production car out there and am convinced the Viper's front lift points are set the deepest of any car I've seen compounded w/a low clearance.
