Hello everyone. Just thought I would introduce myself. I am a new Viper owner near Ann Arbor, MI. I just purchased a (new to me) '99 black-on-black ACR and I'm already modding up a storm. Just got the vehicle back from paint to fix a few problem spots and next on the list is the full blackout treatment. I'm going stealth. :) No chrome, no polished anything. I'm anxious to see these BBS ACR wheels in black :headbang:

Anyway...my first parts purchase as a new Viper owner was a great experience! After a bit of research, I called Jon at PartsRack and pick up a new Belanger exhaust system for my ACR. I also needed a couple of hard to find trim pieces that were missing from the vehicle. I sent Jon an email without expecting much and not only did he have the parts, they showed up at my door by surprise just a few days later!

I definitely know where to go for the hard to find items now. Thanks to JonB :)

I'll post some pictures once the blackout treatment is complete. Gotta stay low key with all those Michigan Staties on I-94 and 275 :D Haha...yeah right!

Think twice about altering the rims. They are very expensive and relatively rare, and they'll never have the original finish again ! Of course, if they need refinishing due to wear and tear, then it doesn't matter. In any event, it's your car to enjoy as you see fit.

Welcome to the group !

Okay. Normally this would be good advice...however, I should mention that these are chrome ACR wheels. The car has around 29k miles and the wheels are starting to show their age. Three are in very good condition, however one is starting to flake in some areas. I've never been a big fan of flashy chrome and the wheel needs refinishing. What should I do?

I wouldn't mind seeing before and after pictures as you do the mods. Would be nice to see your process and comments along the way.

Another vote for powder wheels. The ACR rims are not fun to clean.

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the Viper world!
Time to join the VCA- you won't be sorry! Driving the car is awesome- but hanging out with the club and all the fun events makes it even BETTER!

+1 on some pics! Spill the beans man, we need to see what you're up to.

And glad to hear Jon B fixed you up on the parts. I do a lot of modding to my car and have had to occasionally search elsewhere for my specific needs. You might want to bookmark these sites for when Parts Rack is either not available or does not carry what you are looking for.

Thanks very much for the kind words, and glad we had the minor (freebees) to trim out your BATMOBILE. WELCOME!
