Yea, my first thought about the pistol grip is that you might miss the shift from 3rd to 4th and 5th to 6th because of the way it's made. You have to be able to keep the pressure towards the passenger seat when making those shifts.

My 2002 GTS sometimes would rather go into 4th or 6th when shifting out of 3rd. Neither my '94 nor my '96GTS had a problem like that... Maybe the 3" shift shaft on its' way will somehow cure that.

Otherwise I was going to make a mental note to shift straight back(wards) when drag racing.

Accidentally shifting at 6000rpm from 3rd to 2nd might ruin the day :(

If you are looking for a pistol grip, look in the junk yard. nothing like a MA MOPAR pistol grip....

I bought the one off ebay,, IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Smokes the factory handle hands down!!! I don't care for the ball handle myself. I have a shortened shifter with the pistol-grip and the shifts are better and easier I think, feels alot better IMHO. I asked him not to polish it as I wanted to paint it red to match the car, now I have to paint dash parts to match shifter handle  *never ending*
Excellent workmanship,sturdy and tough,,,,, like a mopar should be :D :D :D :D

btw, haven't missed a shift since putting it in, fwtw
