This whole thread is about one guy scratching his forehead while the other guy scratches his ear, while the other guy listens pensively while covering his mouth. The catch is that all of them are using a special finger usually reserved for traffic. Bunch of pansies. Great thing about the place I come from, is that I just say it....
....I have to sneeze.....WIIIIINDBREEAAAKER!!!! Excuse me.

Ok so divide 735rwhp (assume corrected hp?) by 1.54 = 477rwhp - entirely possible from a really top notch stock V10 with the mods listed.

Torque, you're generally a knowledgeable guy, but if you think an '01 RT/10 with only high-flow cats and a catback could make 477 rwhp--well, 'nuff said. This is an unheard of number, and you still had to take it and combine it with a "theoretical maximum" multiplier to get there. Sorry, but I'm not buying it. Interestingly, if you plug 11 psi into your equation you come up with a base of 420 rwhp, which is a much more believable number (although you still have to hit the theoretical maximum of course).

Oh and Max, please roll around in the dirt a little and toughen up that thin skin. This is a theoretical discussion that has nothing to do with questioning Doug's ability. Whether he used 8 psi or 80 psi the power and reliability are all that is really important, and I'm certainly not questioning either of those issues. Whether Doug figured out a way to get far more hp per psi out of a stock car than anyone else, or whether he figured out how to run more boost with cast pistons than anyone else, it's awesome.

uh oh, this all started with a question concerning the "magician" DLM, and who is there to the defense??? well it is none other than the oh so clever MaxedGTS. i know i know, put down your polydent, step away from the centrum silver, negativity is not aloud in the same breath. why in the world would somebody question running boost in a cast piston car? why would anybody question a cats/catback car that pushes close to 700rwhp? dont worry guys, MaxedGTS is here to let us know that it is all okay  why is it ok?? well b/c he says it is

isnt that special..........the only guys here disputing DLMs ability to BUILD THE ULTIMATE SUPERCHARGED VIPER with cast piston are all of the same feather. is this a DLM thread or a jealous crusade????
Let me ask?
which one of you own a 2000 cast piston supercharged viper with over 30,000 miles like i do?

An impressive HP car for sure. But with so much of it STOCK, $20K seems very HIGH, no? A tuner's talent can be considered PRICELESS in many ways of course, but if there's less than $10K in parts (?)....congrats anyway. Wish I had one : )

Smokin..I always have been curious about you. You must have been picked on when you were a kid. You are one SOB dude..Really..Prior to you getting a S/C you never spoke $hit. Now you think your the man and have the right to talk your smack talk about others opinion on S/C's. What made you so knowledgable about this?? Your stuck 24/7 on the Viper board. I guess having the Napolean complex gives you the right to bust on anyone. I guess in person you would be just a big P**** , just keep talkng your $hit dude and go to your Viperalley boys and play with them.. Prck....

That is one heck of an efficient system to produce those numbers @ 6psi through an intercooler nonetheless. All the while still retaining the stock Hypereutectic pistons...Unreal. Congrats to DLM!

One guy counts his boost for him, the other one counts his money for him
- Geez, when will this madness stop :p :p ??????

After owning two DLM cars for daily drivers I'll let Doug have his cake and eat it too!

How come all dyno sheets don't show air fuel???

b/c some are photoshopped ;)
Are you saying that the dyno sheet is not real? As if somebody altered the a/f or horsepower information? Shame on you! Everything from my car to my business dealings with Doug has been first rate. My car is EVERYTHING Doug promised me and more! The fact that DLM makes excellent power with stock internals is an understatement. I could never have expected a better performing vehicle or business transaction with Doug Levin Motorsports and I will recommend them to everybody I encounter that owns a Viper.

My car makes exactly 8 pounds of boost if I shift at high rpm. The average boost I see on the gauge is about 6 pounds. The power band is so smooth you cannot feel any transition when you go into boost. Doug was absolutely right, the stock engine will perform as good as a built motor but will behave with excellent characteristics. And that is exactly the bottom line here.

Question for you guys.... Will this newly developed RWHP/PSI of Boost(from the cast piston car in this post) make the same gains on a forged piston car?

Paolo, I don't remember my exact conversation with Doug but I THINK he said something about less reciprocating mass with the cast pistons and the boost is quick. Also the cam would make power through the entire rpm range. I know he uses a pretty good computer and fuel setup and it works well. I've yet to hear a hint of detonation with it.

Are you so insecure that are are just waiting to fire back at anything you interpret as a dig against you-even when it was a joke? You've got a great car, why are you so up in arms over a little joke? Didn't you see the smile icon?

It seems as if Doug is an awesome tuner and smart enough to stay out of the catfights. It's a few of his customers you sometimes worry about.

Sure....I'm very insecure  but if you go back and reread the entire thread it appears some individuals were too quick to throw punches that weren't DLM SC owners. Customers that do own DLM cars can tell you how well their creampuff cars perform! Why can't we just enjoy what we have and all learn from what is good or bad without throwing in the monkey wrenches? I sincerely believe that Doug has a great system for us creampuff owners because I own one :) .

Wow, a whole new SC dyno sheet thread and I've been missing it!! For shame, for shame...

I knew about this car a few days before the post. Suffice it to say Doug does know how to turn out some lethal "level I" systems, even on cast-piston cars. I want to see what these babies do on the 'strip now.

Fellas,

Doug is to classy a guy to get involved on this childish bullsh!t about his systems, however he always happy to spend time on the phone with anyone when its comes to questions and answers about his systems operation and cost. Just a super nice guy who happens to also be a world class viper tuner and innovator of superchargers!

So relax, listen and learn. I know I have.

Ben, you disappoint me. :) You of all people can't drop in on this thread (I'm assuming you read all of it) and get away with a bland "boy Doug sure does great work" without commenting on the boost per psi issue. Some of us have read your detailed discussions of this issue as it relates to your car and other cars. So the question is, what do you think?

Oh OK, I'll comment on the HP/PSI question

First of all, the 760 at the end is a slight anomaly from the dyno. It's really leveled out at 740 at the top end, so let's call it 740.

So... at 8 PSI, we have 740 / (14.7 + 8) = 32.6 HP / PSI. That's pretty darn healthy - about 4 HP/PSI more than I would expect. Some of it may be due to higher compression ratio and lighter pistons; the only other thing I can think of is that perhaps Doug's able to run more timing advance because his A/F tuning is dead on and dead stable. I can't even blame correction factor, because it was so hot when the runs were made.

I can't wait to see what Doug can do with a '03!

Ben, I was figuring it a little differently. Assuming the creampuff makes 420-430 RWHP w/highflow cats and cat back(I do not think it could be higher as they do not make much more than that with headers). 736RWHP - 430RWHP = 306RWHP gain from the 7 PSI. 306/7 = 43.7 RWHP/PSI.

Your example of 740/22.7 does not take into account the power the engine was making before the addition of the boost.

I asked you guys if this type of gains seen on the cast piston car of this post would translate to a forged piston application, nobody has answered yet. Maybe you all missed my question. ==> My point is that if it does and should, then 15 PSI should yield 655.5 RWHP gain + the RWHP of the built motor. So say it is 500 RWHP to start: add the 655.5 RWHP gain = 1155.5 RWHP. Say there will be some diminishing marginal returns to the increasing of the boost to 15 PSI from 7 PSI(should still be way higher than what you guys have made with the most recent posting of dyno sheets). ==>If this is the case, you and Dr. Roof and Gerald and the whole bunch should be sending your cars back to Doug for the new technology so I can have some competition! :D

Your comment wasn't so much directed at all the other comments as you made specific reference to the phortoshop comment with the smiley icon, that's why I made my remark.

People do enjoy what they have and if you want to learn anything, you have to expect comments that may not always be to your liking. if evertything was totally positive and never negative, how can you learn anything without hearing comments from all sides.

Reminds me of some posts I have seen on other forums where a guy in a mustang or camaro says he smoked a viper. After some not always positive comments, you find out later that the guy in the non viper car had a 150 shot of nitrous and drag radials. Only then did it all make sense.
From what I have seen here, people are not slamming DLM just to do so, but trying to figure out some things that to them didn't add up to them.
